Heritage with Heart…

If you are like me and have already begun adding dates to next year’s diary – here’s a great event not to be missed!

The Coolamon Rural Women’s Gathering Committee recently held a cocktail party in November to celebrate the announcement that Coolamon is the host of the 2014 NSW Rural Women’s GatheringThe event  will be held in Coolamon on the weekend of 12, 13 and 14 September.

Accepting the  sponsorship cheque for $30,000 from NSW Department of Primary Industries is Mayor John Seymour (Coolamon Shire Council) and Nicole Lucas (Chair of the Coolamon Rural Women's Gathering Committee). The cheque was presented by Dr Alison Bowman, Director - Productivity & Food Security Research at NSW DPI.

Nicole Lucas, Chair of the Coolamon Rural Women’s Gathering Committee said, ‘We are delighted and honoured to finally be able to announce that Coolamon will be hosting the 2014 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering.

‘The 2014 event will not only bring hundreds of women and their partners to our region but will also be an opportunity for our community to spread the word about our rich heritage, natural beauty and industries, and to share our unique experiences.

‘We would like to thank everyone who has helped us with the application process and look forward to introducing many members of the wider Coolamon community and surrounding regions to the concept of the Rural Women’s Gathering.’

The theme for the 2014 Coolamon Rural Women’s Gathering is “Heritage with Heart” which reflects the unique culture, history and environment of the Coolamon community.
