Helping to raise much needed funds for disadvantaged teenage girls

Followers of our blog may recall reading a story we featured several weeks back on Jessica Brown – the Founder & Chief Executive of the Life Changing Experiences Foundation.

The story talked about Jessica’s work with the Foundation and it’s SISTER2Sister mentoring program and her resulting selection as the 2013 People’s Choice Community Hero Woman of the Year Award (Nominations for 2014 are open. Find out more at Women NSW).

I thought Jessica’s latest initiative – Step up for SISTERHOOD day was worth giving a shout-out to as it is helping to raise much needed funds for disadvantaged teenage girls.

Step up for SISTERHOOD day is not just about making a statement and slipping into your most glamorous stilettos and wearing them to work; it’s a national initiative raising much needed funds for the SISTER2sister program – a unique 8 month mentoring and risk management program designed to empower vulnerable teenage girls to turn their lives around and to have a positive lasting impact on the girls and on the wider community.

In exchange for wearing your most fabulous heels in place of your normal workday shoes on Friday 6 December, you simply make a donation. Every dollar raised or donated towards Step up for SISTERHOOD day, will give vulnerable teenage girls a step up in life and hope for a brighter future.

The SISTER2sister program has changed hundreds of girls’ lives so far, you can help change hundreds more.
