Last year I supported a friend who’s mother was diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. At the time my friend also found a lump in her breast – thankfully everything checked out ok but she will now need a yearly mamogram to pick up any early changes.
Because of this I wanted to tell you about an initiative of the National Breast Cancer Foundation that you might be interested in knowing about because it is having a positive impact on breast cancer research.
We all hope that we can speed up the breast cancer research process to get answers sooner and now we can! Register4 is an online community of people who are willing to participate in research. Once a member, Register4 will email you about approved research projects you might like to take part in. It could be as simple as filling in a questionnaire. Whatever you do, it’s your choice. And the great news? It has proven to fast-track research. Thanks to Register4 members, some projects are being filled in a few days instead of years.
Register4 is a special way you can make a personal contribution to breast cancer research and other diseases. Women and men, 18 years+ over, with or without breast cancer can take part. Join today at www.register4.org.au and help fast track research.
