2012 WA RIRDC Rural Women’s Award recipient and the National Runner-up, Catherine Marriott is a passionate and life long advocate of Australian farming systems. She is inspired by agriculture and the people that work in our amazingly diverse, progressive and contributing industry.
Catherine has worked here in Australia and globally in the beef industry and has developed a passion for and deep understanding of the role that Australian agriculture plays in feeding and clothing the world. She has specialist skills in agricultural communication and leadership facilitation and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others.
Her Influential Women initiative is working to build relationships across the entire food supply chain.
“We have such an amazing opportunity to be a part of the food conversation today as people are interested where their food comes from, we need to make our conversations count.” says Catherine.
‘Influential Women is about celebrating the roles that women play in Agriculture, communicating more effectively with consumers about what it is we do in agriculture and collaborating more effectively across varying sectors in Agriculture.
‘We hold 1 or 2 day forums to build confidence, capacity and skills in women to build relationships between producers and consumers through more articulate and conscious communication.’
Catherine is offering women in NSW the opportunity to take part in one of her fantastic Influential Women workshops scheduled at Holbrook on 6&7 June. For more details and to register click here.
