Visit Sydney and taste the world

Do you get bored with the same old meals week after week?

I love to travel and one of my favourite ways of experiencing cultures is to eat my way around the country’s food by seeking out local haunts off the beaten track.

Doing a cooking class is also always on the agenda and I have been lucky enough to have learned a few culinary secrets in Peru, Vietnam, Cambodia and Italy.

It is a great way to meet people local and learn some tricks of the trade along the way as it can be daunting visiting local markets especially in Asia where the produce is often so very foreign to our supermarket experiences.

Well now I can have some of these experience without even getting out my passport!

They can cater for groups as small as 8 and as large as 100 and you can collect lots of samples along the way to take home and wow the family with a whole new range of dishes.

Developed as a social enterprise project, the food tours generate income for local businesses and create training and employment opportunities. This initiative is one of a range of activities developed by The Benevolent Society under the Growing Communities Together program.
