Speech Spectacular 2012 is nearly here and it is something you don’t want to miss if you plan to be in Dubbo on 15 March.

Come along and listen to amazing school students deliver speeches. This primary industries event is coordinated by the Department of Primary Industries’ Landlearn NSW program with support from The Land. It is always such a highlight of the Beef Spectacular event attracting young agriculture enthusiasts who travel from all over the state to compete.
It will be held from 9.30am on Thursday 15th March at Dubbo Showground.
Finalists are currently being selected from the first round and you will be able to hear their talks on the Landlearn NSW website soon.
The finalists will vie for cash prizes and have been asked to prepare a talk on the following question:

Australian vs foreign produce. How can Australia win?

Landlearn NSW Coordinator Carolyn Smith said the initiative was a great chance for students to test their public speaking prowess and to learn more about agriculture.
“We get entries from a number of city schools, so for them it’s a chance to get a better understanding of where their food comes from and what agriculture is all about,” she said.
“We’d like to see other schools from the Dubbo district come and watch the competition and check out all the learning opportunities Beef Spectacular has to offer, especially during Australian Year of the Farmer.”
Landlearn NSW is supported by NSW Farmers and the Royal Agricultural Society.
